Why Go Gamma Phi?

Check out these benefits of membership!

Sisterhood: The sisterhood you gain as a Gamma Phi Beta sets membership apart from membership in other local clubs or organizations. It begins with the friendships formed during your collegiate years and continues to grow as your bond deepens with the Sorority and your sisters.

Alumnae Chapter Membership: With more than 160 alumnae chapters across North America, opportunities for members to socialize, serve and lead after college are abundant. Members connect with an alumnae chapter after graduating from college or moving and find instant connections with those who share a common bond with the Sorority.

Volunteer Opportunities: As an alumnae member, your experience is valuable to those just starting their Gamma Phi Beta experience in college. You can apply to serve on the local, regional or even international level. Volunteering can help sharpen your career knowledge, provide experience, build your professional network and hone your written and verbal communication skills.

Gamma Phi Beta is a sisterhood of dynamic, diverse, and down to earth women. We aspire to embody the highest type of womanhood and have a positive social, scholastic, and service impact in our community. Our members have fostered lifelong friendships, paved the way for professional success, and created cherished eternal memories. We hope you embrace the opportunity to find your home in Gamma Phi.

Leadership Development: Both collegians and alumnae further their personal growth through the development of leadership skills. Members can serve as officers, committee members, advisors and volunteer leaders to fine-tune their talents and gain valuable experience. Additionally, training is offered through chapter educational programming, online webinars and workshops presented at Gamma Phi Beta conferences.

Campus Involvement:  You will have the unique opportunity to be involved in a variety of campus events - from enjoying sisterhood nights at sporting events to being recognized by the university at Greek Awards night, you'll be involved in all the exciting campus activities!

Networking: As a member of Gamma Phi Beta, you have access to effective networking tools that put you in touch with more than 200,000 sisters worldwide.

Financial Aid: Your education is the key to your future. Financial aid in the form of scholarships and fellowships is available through the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation. Grant-in-aid is also available for extenuating financial circumstances.

Hi everyone,

My name is Jenna and I’m the Membership VP of Gamma Phi, which means I am in charge of all things recruitment or rush! When I came to UCSB as a freshman, I wasn’t sure if being in a sorority was for me. Now looking back, I can’t imagine what my life would be like if I hadn’t made that first step and signed up for rush. Go Greek and try it out! Gamma Phi has impacted every part of my life— from looking at our major board to find friends to sit with in class, to using our Facebook group “Help a Sista Out” to borrow a blouse for an interview, to even having people to watch The Bachelor with you on a big screen. My sisters are always there to grab Buffalo Chicken Cheese fries with me, to go to the beach with me, and to study with me. A sorority should be a place of support and sisterhood above all else— and Gamma Phi is truly my home. Our motto is “Building Strong Girls” and we take it seriously! Through volunteer work, officer leadership opportunities, and study groups my sisters inspire me to be the best version of myself I can be. They are there to cheer me on when I have a good day and cheer me up when it’s a bad one. It’s corny, I know, but sisterhood truly isn’t just four years, it’s for life. I’m so excited for Fall Recruitment and can’t wait to show you all the wonderful things Gamma Phi has to offer! Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!
